Kevin Deng

Prof. Kevin Deng is a distinguished professor and Executive Associate Director of Automotive Research Institute of Jilin University of China since 2010. Prior to that, he had worked for General Motors Global R&D Center as a Researcher, Sr. Researcher and Staff Researcher respectively since 1996.

In 2010, he served as Acting Director of Hong Kong APAS R&D Center in charge of the research on various projects, including intelligent transportation systems (ITS), vehicle-to-vehicle communication and network, vehicle safety, electric vehicles, etc.

He was a three-time recipient of the ¡°Charles McCuen¡± Award, the highest research award by GM R&D Center, and a twice-recipient of the `Boss' Kettering Award, the most prestigious award in GM for technical invention and innovation. He holds 25 US patents with another 13 U.S. patent and 12 Chinese patent applications pending. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Vehicle Autonomous Systems and Associate Editors of International Journal of Vehicle Design, editorial board member of Journal of Vehicle Engineering respectively. He is also the Chair of the Transportation Track of 2010, 2012 and 2014 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conferences respectively, the Chair of Advanced Vehicles and Mobility of 2011 China-America Frontiers of Engineering Symposium, and Technical Program Chair of FISITA 2012 on Chassis Systems and Integration Technology, etc.
