Speech Title: A Novel Denoising Algorithm for Power Quality Disturbance Based on Variational Mode Decomposition

Abstract: This paper proposes a denoising algorithm for power quality disturbance (PQD) based on variational mode decomposition (VMD). The noisy signal is decomposed into discrete numbers of modes by VMD firstly in this algorithm, and then the average periodic energy of each mode is calculated. Afterwards, the modes are reconstructed according to a preset threshold of the average periodic energy. Simulation studies are carried out based on different PQD to verify the proposed algorithm, compared with other algorithms. The results show that the proposed algorithm has a good denoising performance in denoising for PQD.
