Biography: El Hadj Ailam was born in Algeria in 1976. He received the B.S (1999) and Magister (2001) in electrical engineering from the Ecole Nationale Polytechnique, Algiers, Algeria, and the PhD (2006) from the Universite Henry Poincare, Nancy, France. He is currently with Univ Khemis Miliana, LESI Lab, Algeria. He is also the vice-rector in charge of scientific research at Univ Khemis Miliana. His research interests are superconducting motors. In 2010 he formed the first team in Algeria working on superconducting rotating machines (currently: 1 professor, 3 assistant professors, 4 PhD students and 6 Master students). Recently, he designed and realized an axial superconducting rotating machine based on the flux concentration principle. Another work on the designed and realization of a superconducting permanent machine is conducted.
